Nunavut Day

Territorial Holiday to celebrate Canada's newest territory created on July 9, 1999. The creation of Nunavut has meant self-government for Inuit of government with the historical signing of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement. Activites include barbeques, parades, Inuit traditional games, followed by a community feast of Inuit land foods such as caribou, walrus, and arctic char. |
